Dartford Warbler

Sylvia undata magg 2012_A.DeFaveriThis species, which is typical of heather and Mediterranean scrub, has a population of national importance on the island of Montecristo. Although there are still some hundred breeding pairs, most of which resident, the local population has more than halved in the last twenty years. The decline of heather may be the cause of the diminished nesting group on the Island.
